Welcome to MWPGL.org, the official website home of the Most Worshipful Palmetto Grand Lodge of South Carolina. The Palmetto Grand Lodge was born in 1869 under the authority of the Most Worshipful National Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Ancient York Rite Masons, Prince Hall Origin, National Compact, USA.
The Palmetto Grand Lodge counts its membership in the thousands and consists not only of Master Masons but also of a number of various Departments, Appendant and Concordant Masonic bodies.
The primary goals of our organization are charity, fraternity and brotherly love. We work diligently to pursue these goals by engaging with our community in a multitude of charitable efforts, volunteering and mentoring opportunities, scholarships, a variety of sponsorships as well as gala events.
Freemasonry is the worlds oldest and largest secular fraternal organization. Its Worldwide membership numbers in the millions. When asked about how does one become a member, it is commonly said that, "To Be 1, Ask 1." From this simple concept have our members grown together from a group of one time strangers to become a close knit group resembling family.
