Q: What is Freemasonry?
A: Freemasonry is the world's oldest & largest secular fraternal organization. Freemasonry is a society of men concerned with moral and spiritual values. Its members are taught the precepts(moral lessons and self-knowledge) of the order by a series of rituals, customs and allegorical guides.
Q: Is Freemasonry a religion?
A: In plain and simple terms, No. Freemasonry is not a religion in any way, shape or form. Nor is it a substitute for religion. It does require that its members have a belief in a Supreme Being as part of the obligation of every responsible adult, but advocates no sectarian faith or practice. Freemasonry is open to men of any faith as long as they have a belief in a Supreme Being.
Q: Who was Prince Hall?
A: Prince Hall is considered to be the founder of "Black Freemasonry" in the United States, which is more commonly known today as Prince Hall Freemasonry. In 1775, along with 14 other our free black men, he was brought into the organization known as Freemasonry. In time from this one group of men would come the 1st Lodge, the 1st Grand Lodge as well as all the 1st National Grand Lodge of color in the United States. After his death the original Grand Lodge was renamed the Prince Hall Grand Lodge in his honor.

Q: What do Masons do?
A: The primary goals of our organization are charity, fraternity and brotherly love. We work diligently to pursue these goals by engaging with our community in a multitude of charitable efforts, volunteering opportunities, scholarships as well as gala events.

Q: What are the requirements to be a Mason?
A: To become a Mason the requirements may vary slightly depending on the laws of the jurisdiction you contact, but the core principles remain the same:
1. Being a man, freeborn, of good repute and well-recommended;
2. A belief in a Supreme Being;
3. The ability to support one's self and family;
4. Being of lawful age; and
5. They must come to Freemasonry of their, "own free will and accord."
Freemasonry is an initiatic experience. Meaning that no matter how many books you read, or websites you visit you cannot become a true Mason without living through experience for yourself.
